Grace and Productivity in Quarantine

Dear Friends,

By nature, I am not a very organized person. The organization that doo maintain comes with a lot of work behind it. Throughout my life, I have embraced times of carefree disorganization, developed tricks and tactics to help me cope with my clutter (including making lists, carrying notepad in my pocket, etc.). I have tried and tested every major "to-do" app or task management software available.

I find that I enjoy organizing my life, even if it requires dedicated time and effort. Some people enjoy crossword puzzles or Sudoku. I enjoy figuring out ways to automate my project workflows and Google calendars. I enjoy building structures that make the database of my everyday life more natural to look up and cross-reference. It's like building a model airplane, except the airplane is my work-week.

During this quarantine, I realize that many of us find working from home a significant disruption to our workflows. Even if you are self-employed and accustomed to working from home, the addition of loved ones sharing that same space all day and night makes getting things done all the more difficult. Therefore, I would like to share a YouTube video from one of my favorite creators, CGP Grey. I encourage you to watch it and see what it sparks in you. Perhaps you have neglected parts fo your physical well-being? Maybe you find the division of spaces highly beneficial (I know I do). The idea of "spaceship you" is one that I will carry with me far beyond these unusual times.

God bless,

Andrew+
